Chair adjustment: Office chair ergonomics |
| |
Sit in the chair, move your chair under the work surface and adjust the height of the chair so as to leave about 5 cm between the top of your thigh and the bottom of work surface. |
| |
In this position, check to see whether your feet are flat on the floor. If not, use a footrest. |
| |
Backrest angle should be between 95° and 100° relative to the seat of the chair. |
| |
Adjust backrest height so that the lateral protrusion in the lower third of the backrest fits into the arch of your lower back. |
| |
In this position, your thighs should be touching the seat, but the edge of the seat should be at least 5 cm away from the back of your knees. |
| |
Knee angle should be between 90° and 100°. |
| |
Adjust the armrests so that elbow angle is between 90° and 100°. When resting your forearms on the armrests, you should feel that your shoulders are relaxed. |
